Black iron and corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) gas lines run through ceiling joists and wall cavities to supply fireplaces, kitchen ranges, and attic furnaces. When a threaded joint loosens, finding the micro-leak without cutting open every wall is essential.
Digital Manometer Pressure Decay Testing
We disconnect all appliances, cap the valves, and introduce 15 PSI of air into the gas system. A digital manometer measures pressure down to 0.001 PSI. If the gauge drops over 15 minutes, an active breach is confirmed.
Ultrasonic and Combustible Sniffing
We then run electronic combustible gas sniffer wands along wall baseboards, electrical outlet plates, and light fixtures. Gas rises through wall studs, allowing sensitive sensors to locate the exact stud cavity containing the loose fitting.
